SG BESAR POLLS Selangor PAS chief Iskandar Samad today said the anti-BN billboards put up by DAP for Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) without its knowledge was a sign of disarray in the federal opposition pact.

"Basically, they (Pakatan Harapan) have to put their own house in order.

"If that is true, why should you vote for them when they have yet to discuss matters as important as that (inflammatory billboards) before putting them up," Iskandar said at a press conference at PAS headquarters in Sungai Besar.

Asked whether it was a sign that Amanah was being dominated by DAP, Iskandar said: "I don't know. That is for you and the people to judge."

"I am not going to speculate.

"We are not interested in politics based on perception or speculation," he said.

The Chempaka assemblyperson earlier urged all parties to respect the holy month of Ramadan and refrain from engaging in politics of slander.

"We want to have a clean election rather than based on slander or personal attacks," he added.

The inflammatory billboards were discovered around two roundabouts in Sekinchan on Wednesday but were taken down under orders from the Election Commission later the same day.

Selangor DAP chief Tony Pua later admitted that his party was behind the banners that carried Amanah's logo.

Amanah communications director Khalid Samad yesterday promised that no more of such banners would be put up and attributed the situation to a miscommunication between the two parties.

Iskandar also said the issue of Sungai Besar PAS chief breaking fast with Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak should not be politicised.

"We (PAS) can't stop people from breaking fast together. Or for instance today is Friday, we cannot separate people (from PAS and Umno).

"This is a religious practice and it should not be politicised," he said.

Sungai Besar PAS chief Fadzin Taslimin had yesterday shared a table with Najib and BN candidate Budiman Mohd Zohdi during a breaking fast function at Masjid Ma'muniah.

PAS' campaign for Sungai Besar has been shadowed by claims of future cooperation with Umno, though it has been repeatedly denied by the Islamist party’s top leaders.
