Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) comprises disappointed individuals from PAS who are subservient to the DAP leadership, according to Khairy Jamaluddin.

He said these people refused to follow the instructions of PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, and chose to bow to DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang and his son Guan Eng instead.

Therefore, the Umno Youth chief told voters in Kuala Kangsar that voting for Amanah was an indirect endorsement of DAP.

Khairy said since Amanah was a splinter party of PAS, the latter's members were confused as to who to vote for, given that Amanah's acronym PAN was similar to PAS.

"Voting Amanah is voting DAP, so don't think that voting Amanah is for PAS," he was quoted as saying by Umno Online.

The Rembau MP said there was also a similar conundrum with PAS.

"We don't know who we are voting for since there are also Amanah agents in PAS like (Pokok Sena MP) Mahfuz (Omar).

"We don't know who controls PAS, we want to take care of the future of our race and the people in our kampung. Only BN can do this," he added.

In view of this, Khairy said voters must cast their ballots for BN candidate Mastura Mohd Yazid in the June 18 by-election, which would be a four-cornered tussle involving PAS, Amanah and an Independent candidate.

The Umno Youth chief also mocked the opposition parties over their differences which led to PAS and DAP transforming from allies into foes.

"In the past, they had a pact with the name Barisan Alternatif, then it became Pakatan Rakyat and the latest is Pakatan Harapan. Who knows what name will crop up tomorrow," he said.

He noted how the opposition lacked cohesiveness, even though there were only three parties involved.

"How are they going to rule? How will they become the ruling party and safeguard the interests of the people?" he asked.

Khairy urged the people to support a coalition which did not squabble, and prioritised the people instead of internal problems.

"This is what has been done by BN with a pact of 13 parties to form a coalition which possesses a team spirit. BN has proven that it champions the people," he added.
