K KANGSAR POLLS A total of 312 registered voters, comprising policemen, are eligible to vote early for the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-election this Tuesday (June 14).

Returning officer for the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-election Mior Muhammad Jamil Mior Zakaria said early voting would be held at two polling centres - Tun Salleh Ismael Hall, Police Housing Quarters, Kuala Kangsar District Police Headquarters and the Manong police station meeting room.

The polling centres would open at 8 am.

He said the polling centre at Tun Salleh Ismael Hall, with 292 eligible voters, would open until 5pm, while the centre at the Manong police station, with 20 eligible voters, would close at 2pm.

The Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-election is called following the death of its incumbent Member of Parliament Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad in a helicopter crash in Sebuyau, Sarawak, last May 5.

It will witness a four-cornered fight between Barisan Nasional, PAS, Amanah and an Independent candidate.

There are 32,949 registered voters in the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary constituency.

Polling for the by-election is on June 18.
