KUALA KANGSAR POLLS The people of Kuala Kangsar must translate their support for BN into votes for its candidate at the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-election to continue development in the constituency.

Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the government had announced numerous development projects in the area and support for BN candidate Mastura Mohd Yazid would surely smoothen their implementations.

"We have fulfilled many of the requests of the people in Kuala Kangsar, we want it to be translated into votes for BN (polling day on June 18)," he said in his speech at the district voting centre in Kampung Bendang Panjang, Kuala Kangsar last night.

He said the government always listened to the woes and anxieties of the people in the area but they must clearly prove their support to the government to realise the numerous programmes.

During the event, Ahmad Zahid also approved three projects for the benefit of the people of Kampung Bendang Panjang, namely, a multipurpose hall, futsal court and a footbal field.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also home minister, also announced a RM150,000 allocation to upgrade the Sultan Abdul Jalil Mosque in Kampung Bendang Panjang.

The allocation encompassed the laying of new carpet, air-conditioning and repainting the mosque, he added.
