Health Ministry awaits police report on Syed Alman’s death

The Health Ministry is still awaiting the outcome of police investigations on the death of the deputy prime minister’s son-in-law, Syed Alman Zain Syed Alwi.

Deputy Health Minister Dr Hilmi Yahaya said, that any action can only be taken after the reports by both sides are ready.

“Our (Health Ministry’s) investigation has been completed but we are not sure when the police report will be ready. We will take action in accordance with the Facilities and Services Act Private Healthcare 1998 [Act 586] while the police will act under the Criminal Procedure Code Act,” he said when met at the Parliament lobby in Kuala Lumpur today.

However, Hilmi refused to disclose the findings of the ministry.
