Jamal: No need to heal opposition, let’s read their final rites in GE14

Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Yunos has lent his voice to the growing chorus of those criticising Rafizi Ramli over his reaction to the outcome of the recent twin by-elections.

Contrary to the PKR secretary-general’s claim that voters suffered from two diseases - racial and religious sentiments as well as materialism - he claimed that it was the opposition that is ailing from cancer.

However, he said there is no reason to heal them.

“Rafizi, (DAP lawmaker) Tony Pua and Pakatan (Harapan) parties should not be treated, instead we should ‘talkin’kan’ (read their last rites) in the 14th general election,” he added.

To ensure this, Jamal urged the BN and Umno machinery in Selangor to work hard in order to recapture the state, which has been in opposition hands since 2008.

“Continue our unity (in Umno). Let’s work hard and strengthen cooperation with our BN friends. Look into the problems of the people. God willing, they will return to BN in the next election,” he said.

The Umno firebrand also claimed it is this disease which caused the voters in Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar to shun the opposition.

“If they (the opposition) are not ill, the people would have voted for them,” he was quoted as saying by Umno Online.

Jamal claimed the opposition’s cancer had reached a critical stage that it no longer could accept defeat in the twin polls.

“It was even worse in Kuala Kangsar, where they not only lost to BN but Parti Amanah Negara was also behind PAS which one of their ex-leaders described as a childish party,” he added.
