Perhaps Rosmah feels the same hurt, Siti Hasmah told

The ongoing feud between former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has now encompassed their wives as well.

Yesterday, Mahathir’s wife of six decades Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali revealed how she feels hurt witnessing the manner in which her husband is being treated.

Responding to this, a pro-Umno portal pointed out that perhaps Najib’s wife Rosmah Mansor also feels the same anguish when Mahathir insults and denigrates her husband.

The portal, MyKMU.net, also noted how Siti Hasmah recalled her family’s close ties with the prime minister’s family, including her friendship with Najib’s mother and her sister.

“If Tun Siti remembers the contributions of Najib’s family, especially how his late father brought Mahathir back into Umno and helped him to become prime minister, does she think it is appropriate for her husband to insult Najib and his entire family (now)?

“Has Tun Siti forgotten the slander against Najib on the murder of Altantuya (Shaariibuu), the diamond ring and the wedding of the Umno president’s daughter?

“In fact, Tun Siti’s husband knows and admitted in the past that these were fictitious propaganda by the opposition,” MyKMU.net added.

The portal also questioned if Siti Hasmah genuinely remembered the fondness between their families, should she allow Mahathir to destroy this decades-old bond.

Apart from this, MyKMU.net also roped in PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, the wife of jailed former opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, whom Mahathir sacked as deputy prime minister in 1998.

“Where was Tun Siti when her husband sacked and arrested Wan Azizah’s husband?

“Why didn’t Tun Siti placate Wan Azizah and her children (then),when Anwar was shamed by her husband?” it asked.

The portal said if Siti Hasmah was saddened by what is happening to her husband, then she must also take into account the feelings of Rosmah, Wan Azizah and numerous other wives of Umno leaders who were victims of her husband.

“In Islam there is no karma, but Siti Hasmah must know the prayers of those who have been wronged go straight to Allah. Perhaps this is what your husband is facing now,” it added.

Therefore, the portal expressed hope that Siti Hasmah would advise her husband,  in his advanced age, to get closer to God.
