Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali said he would not wait for pressure to mount before stepping down, if he was charged of corruption as Penang chief minister.

"If it was me, I don't need to ask anyone else. No need to wait for people to pressure me.

"I myself (would step down), whether the accusations against me were politically (motivated) or not, that doesn't matter.

"What's important is self-awareness. The people will judge. If you step down they will judge you and if you don't step down they'll still judge you," Ibrahim said.
