Traffic flow was generally smooth on several major highways as at noon today on the eve of Aidilfitri, according to highway operators.

A spokesperson of Plus Malaysia Berhad said traffic volume was expected to pick up in the afternoon as more people returned to their villages and hometowns to celebrate Aidilfitri tomorrow.

“Traffic north-bound was moving smoothly as at noon except at several stretches where it was slow,” he told Bernama.

He said traffic flow to the city and nearby areas was smooth.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson of the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said traffic flow was smooth either way on the East Coast Expressway.
