Interfaith group questions PM's continued silence over Pahang mufti

Fair Play: Pahang mufti Abdul Rahman Osman is just a nobody. By giving him space, you made him into a somebody. Really, Malaysians are their own worst enemies.

The Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST), you are like a bunch of primary school boys who got bullied by a small boy and you ran back to your teacher expecting action to be taken.

And who knows, your teacher might be encouraging the bully indirectly.

Vijay47: There is much gnashing of teeth and beating of breasts over the prime minister's failure to act against his supporters who are pushing us closer to the brink of religious mayhem, but aren't we all perhaps missing the elephant gloating in the room?

I always thought that pawns like Perkasa, Ridhuan Tee Abdullah, and the Pahang mufti served Najib Abdul Razak's political survival, but let us take things to a more dramatic level - what if Najib and these others are all from the same band of moles out to sell the country to Islamic State (IS) and similar outfits?

Remember, IS is the group that Najib so passionately admired and could not speak highly enough of.

What if his original comments about that cursed RM2.6 billion were true, that the Saudis gave it to him for the propagation of Islam in the Saudi mould of schemes?

So maybe there's more to it than meets the IS. Let us hope it’s only in Wall Street movies from Hollywood.

Negarawan: Sadly, Malaysia has become a safe haven and fertile land for allegedly corrupt leaders and alleged Islamic extremists who can act with impunity.

This is truly a failed state. The prolonged inaction and silence from the religious authorities and the government of the day show that they are somehow complicit.

Perhaps this was engineered to draw the attention of the rakyat away from the 1MDB mega scandal.

One could only imagine if a similar statement of equal gravity was made by a non-Muslim. He would have been lynched by now.

The world out there only knows you as a Malaysian and not by your race or religion. Are all these people proving that God made a mistake in creating so many religions? Where was anyone's religion before the earlier religions?

On your final day, you will be judged by your good intentions and actions. He cares not for policing your adherents or protecting your religion. When you are subjected for judgement, who are you to judge others?

Even in countries practising monotheism, peace is a mirage. I am so convinced God (Mother Nature) never created any religion.

He created the universe plus men in one tiny dot, hoping they would care and worry about one another and live in harmony. Instead they created religions to care and worry about Him. ]

And this create ceaseless intermittent savage turmoil.

Clerics do not have a role in government. That role belongs to the people. But religions have so destroyed the way Malaysians think that the people now think that religion is part of their identity.

It’s not, religion is a major part of your lack of identity.

BTN: PM Najib Razak is not a statesman at all. His action, or in this case inaction, sends the wrong signal to potential radicalised people.

Najib is more interested in staying alive politically than seeing the country progress as 1Malaysia. Don't forget he coined the 1Malaysia concept, but it seems very clear now what his 1Malaysia means.

To reprimand the Pahang mufti would cost him a lot of support, which he could ill afford. Najib is not a leader, but he still would not admit it.

Anon1: Why would Najib speak up? Ninety percent of the 'kafir harbi' vote for the opposition and denounce corruption, embezzlement and kleptocracy.
