While the public awaits further clarification on Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man's call for a PAS ceasefire with the opposition, the party deputy has turned instead to commenting on football.

In a Facebook posting today, he said during a match, cheers preceding a penalty kick could turn to disappointment and misery if the ball misses its mark.

Likewise, he said, when one is praised, he also needs to prepare to be hated, because God created everything in pairs.

"Everything has a pair. This is something we have to prepare for, when in this temporary world," he waxed.

While he did not elaborate on any specific topic, his call for a truce between the Islamist party and other opposition parties has received tentative response from his colleagues.

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang did not directly comment, but said the Islamic party cannot walk hand in hand with either clear enemies or duplicitous friends.

Meanwhile, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan pointed out the ceasefire is not a party stand and it has yet to be discussed.

"Oh my son, when the referee gives a penalty kick, all the supporters, players and officials cheer with joy.

"They are even happier when the key player with a lot of goals throughout the league, take the penalty," wrote Tuan Ibrahim in his posting.

"However, when the penalty is saved by the goalkeeper, the atmosphere instantly changes.

"Those who were happy previously become disappointed and sad. Those who are worried become happy.

"Praise becomes insults and curses," wrote the PAS deputy in his cryptic posting.
