Veteran journalist Muda Mohd Noor passed away at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital this evening.

The former Malaysiakini journalist was admitted to the KLH Neurological Ward on Monday after he suffered from a stroke.

Falling into a coma after the stroke, the late Muda never regained consciousness until his passing.

The deceased was 56 and is survived by his widow.

Other than Malaysiakini, Muda had also served at Malay newspapers Watan and Berita Harian, while his last posting was at news portal Berita Daily, as an editor.

His remains will be sent back to his hometown in Kuala Terengganu tonight and will be interred tomorrow morning.
