Azmin: No issue approving Selena Gomez's concert if conditions met
The Selangor government has no problem approving American singer Selena Gomez’s concert if conditions are met.
However, Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali said the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has yet to receive any application from the organisers of the concert, to be held at the Malawati Shah Alam Stadium on July 25.
"If all the conditions set are met, there would be no problem in giving approval," he told reporters after attending the MBSA Aidilfitri open house in the compound of the Shah Alam Stadium today.
On PAS’ saying that the 'Selena Gomez The Revival Tour' concert tarnished the sanctity of Syawal, Mohamed Azmin said all months should be respected.
Prior to this, PAS Youth Islamic Propagation chairperson Hafez Sabri, in a statement, was reported to have said Selena Gomez's appearance could be considered as promoting the culture of hedonism in the country’s younger generation.
The PAS women’s wing had also voiced its disapproval over the concert, as the pop star’s image was said to be "sexy and wild".
Asked to comment on the allegations regarding Selena Gomez' sexy image, Mohamed Azmin said: "Sexy is a creation of God... some are sexy, some are not, some people are beautiful and some are not... don't get excited about it. I am more excited about the lyrics and the songs."
