PKR not convinced about Penang snap polls

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was a no show at PKR's meeting last night, where he was expected to brief the party on alleged plans to hold a snap election in the state.

PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said her party was not sold on the idea, but is open to discussing the matter further with Pakatan Harapan.

Bersih questioned the need for such an election, saying DAP should reconsider the speculated move.

 

 

PKR: Dr M not new opposition boss

Meanwhile PKR leaders dismissed talk that former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had usurped Anwar Ibrahim as the de facto opposition leader.

Governance watchdog Kuasa however questioned what purpose Mahathir's planned new party would serve if it succeeds in ousting Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
