An actor was among 14 people arrested for alleged involvement in investment fraud, incurring losses of up to RM10.5 million.

This was confirmed by Bukit Aman Commercial CID deputy director Tajuddin Md Isa, yesterday.

“The 44-year-old actor is suspected to be the right hand man and believed to be protecting the mastermind by providing basic facilities such as housing and other needs,” he told Bernama.

He, however, declined to comment further on the 13 other individuals and said the case was still under investigation.

According to media reports yesterday, the actor was arrested at his home in Selangor at about 2pm on Thursday, and was currently being remanded until tomorrow at the Dang Wangi police station to assist investigations.

In the raid, nine cars of various makes and models valued at about RM1 million were seized, in addition to jewellery, designer bags, bank books, bank cards, investment forms, phones and computers.
