Moderate quake hits south-west of Sumatra

A moderate earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale struck the south-western part of Sumatra, Indonesia at 3.41pm today, according to the Meteorological Department.
The epicentre of the quake was 960km south-west of Pontian, Johor.
The department said the quake however did not pose any tsunami threat.
