COMMENT Last Thursday, predictably - and, indeed, laughingly - there was hardly any front page report in Malaysian newspapers on the previous night’s explosive allegations by the US attorney-general and the US Department of Justice (DOJ) surrounding 1MDB and the various individuals involved.

Indeed, up until now, all the Malay and English language newspapers have other front page reports, ranging from a possible snap election in Penang to the shooting of a business woman in Selangor.

But nothing at all about the DOJ’s statement, beyond small footnotes quoting Malaysian Official 1’s response, urging us all not to jump to conclusions yet.
