DAP MP Tony Pua was quizzed by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) in Putrajaya today over his Facebook postings on "Malaysian Official One" (MO1).

He is being investigated under Section 233 of Communications and Multimedia (CMA) Act 1998, which deals with "improper use of network facilities or network service".

Pua told reporters that MCMC received at least five complaints over his postings, which were uploaded on July 20.

Pua admitted writing and uploading the posts.

However, the Petaling Jaya Utara MP insisted there was "no need" for him to remove the posts.

"I will not remove my postings, and as an MP, I ask the government to be accountable on 1MDB.

"I will continue to press for those guilty to be charged," he said when met outside the MCMC headquarters, after he was questioned for an hour by the authorities.

Pua said it was also unnecessary to call him just because of the complaints lodged.

"You have to first establish that it is valid. You have to check whether what I said was true. If it's true no need to call me.

"So you can throw it away. What I said is based entirely on US Department of Justice's (DOJ) documents," he added.

His lawyer Gobind Singh Deo, who was also present, said he would not rule out Pua being called again to give another round of statement.

On July 20, DOJ filed lawsuits, seeking to confiscate assets located in US and abroad, as it claimed the assets were purchased from money stolen from 1MDB.

In the filing, DOJ also claimed that a total of US$731 million traceable to 1MDB went to the account of "Malaysian Official 1”.

The next day, Pua posted two posts, with the first reading: "Datuk Seri Najib Razak, the US Department of Justice has just accused you of robbing Malaysians of billions of ringgit. Where are you going to hide now? And no more golf with Obama perhaps?"

The second read: "'Malaysian Official One' is 100% PM Najib Razak. And Malaysia Official One stole Billions of ringgit from 1MDB's borrowed funds. You deny? So sue me!"
