Inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar chose not to respond to PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli’s accusation that he practises double standards, saying he has other matters to attend to.

“Sure, I’m always the one practising double standards and he’s (Rafizi) always the fair one,” he told reporters when quizzed on the matter.

“I have a lot of work to do so I’m just going to leave it at that,” he was quoted as saying by The Star.

Yesterday, Rafizi accused Khalid of double standards after police declined to take action against Umno Youth vice-chief Khairul Azwan Harun for lodging a police report based on assumptions.

This was in regard to Khairul Azwan's police report against former Bank Negara governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz, ex-attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail and former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Abu Kassim Mohamed.

He had accused them of conspiring against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak by submitting classified information to foreign agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

He also suspected that the three falsified information to serve their agenda.

However, Khalid told reporters that when questioned, Khairul Azwan admitted that the report was based on assumptions.

He was let off the hook with a warning not to lodge such reports again.

There have been widespread calls for the Umno Youth leader to be investigated for making a false report.
