Prof Hanafiah, does Islam accept grand larceny?

YOURSAY | ‘Why doesn't the professor ask the gov’t to declassify the auditor-general’s report?’

Be wary of news about leadership by infidels, academic tells Muslims on DOJ suits

Aquinas Says: Prof Hanafiah Harun, let me get this right. You trust the Malaysian attorney-general's findings because he is a Muslim? How about decisions based on agendas to keep those who do wrong in power? Is that okay?

What do we do about leaders who abuse their position and shackle institutions of democracy to protect themselves? What's your view on those things, professor?

It sounds to me like the wheels of the government machinery are spinning hard, preparing the Muslim populace to reject any potential findings of guilt on the PM's part if it does come to that.

Citizen_Zero: You don’t have to have to belong to a certain religion in order to have to investigate an information's veracity before believing it.

People of all faiths do it every day. We question everything, even PM Najib Razak. And we are not even concerned what his religion is. We just want him to be a good person and not steal our money.

Anyway, do investigate the US Department of Justice (DOJ) information to death, and tell us what you find out. And remember, the Quran also tells you not to lie.

Quigonbond: The riposte is we should all be wary of religious scholars and academics who tells you to believe in everything they say instead of using our own critical faculty, and who does not have any sense of baseline morality about gender equality, concepts of honesty and transparency and professionalism, and who does not believe in empirical evidence or strong circumstantial evidence.

I'd take my chances with the "infidels".

Odin Tajué: Hanafiah, at least two infidels, or two groups of infidels, have published many reports portraying one of your great ‘believers’ and his family, friends and cronies as thieving sewer rats. At least five of those cronies are also your great 'believers’.

Over the last year-and-a-half, one of those infidels has challenged any and all those sewer rats four times to sue her if her reports contained false information.

Until today, not one has the bollocks to sue her. None has the bollocks to sue her for the utterly simple reason that the infidel has indeed published the truth about their alleged thieving.

Thinkingmachine: I equate Hanafiah to a person with a bonsai mind. There can only be one truth though there can be a million lies to cover it up.

He should think beyond one's religion, colour or creed. Haven't we seen people of different religion helping one another in desperate moments.

God bless the future generation in our country.

Onlooker: My head is spinning. I am so confused.

On top of the mystery of who could possibly be MO1 (Malaysian Official 1), now we have to work out who could be the 'certain quarter' that some mysterious people want to topple.

Drngsc: Prof Hanafiah, does Islam accept grand larceny and grand theft?

Are you telling Muslims that accepting US$761 million into PM's personal account is okay? Are you saying that selling out Malaysia is okay?

I am not sure where your professorship came from. But your statement sure betrays your lack of qualification. No wonder, Malaysian educational standard is at an all-time low.

Do you know that your lack of morals will destroy our youths? Maybe they are used to pseudo-professors like you and ignore you, like I will also do.

AJ: Don't we have to satisfy a certain list of criteria to call someone an academic?

Yes, no wonder, we are rated so poorly. Is this a professor of a rural religious school? Surely the points in his argument point that way.

When Malaysia stops calling such less than ordinary people academicians or professors will our children have hope.

Tan Kim Keong: Hanafiah, but we all know who the ‘fasik’ (untrustworthy) are in this country. By virtue of faith, they are also ‘kafir’ (infidels) because they are ‘fasik’ (untrustworthy).

So one cannot be untrustworthy and a believer. That would be your version of God and faith.

Anonymous #40538199: Why doesn't the professor ask the government to declassify the auditor-general’s report on 1MDB so that the rakyat, both Muslims or non-Muslims, can better evaluate the situation and not to be easily confused.

GE14Now: The ones who steal from the country and then pretend that they have not and do all sorts of unethical things to protect themselves are the real infidels.

That would also include those who can see what is really happening but who protect these infidels.

Existential Turd: Indeed, the most dangerous kind of misinformation comes not from infidels or foreigners, but from the people you least suspect.
