A sum of RM90 million is too small a price for PAS to turn its back on the sacrifices of thousands of its members, says Pahang PAS commissioner Rosli Abdul Jabbar.

Rosli said this after whistleblower website Sarawak Report reported suspicion that the Islamist party received that sum from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to appease them to BN's cause.

PAS has strongly denied the claims and is lodging a police report on the matter today.

"There are rich and poor members in PAS. The rich often join PAS once they are rich. It is not that they enrich themselves through PAS; on the contrary, they deplete their riches to further PAS' struggles.

"The poor are the same. They did not become impoverished by PAS. Usually they are already poor. However, even though they know joining PAS won't make them rich, they still make sacrifices to further PAS' cause because they know it is an investment for the afterlife.

"So RM90 million does not commensurate with the sacrifices of our members at all. PAS members don't look at all of that. Only those whose hearts are inhabited by the devil's whispers will sell out," the Tanjung Lumpur assemblyperson said in a statement.

Rosli said PAS members are rewarded for their sacrifices by something far more valuable - Allah's pleasure.

He added that PAS is not desperate to win over Putrajaya if it means resorting to un-Islamic means.

Meanwhile, PAS' Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar urged Najib to clear his name over allegations he tried to win PAS over with RM90 million.

"PAS is ready to take legal action against Sarawak Report. When is Najib's turn? The rakyat wants to hear if indeed there is a RM90 million political donation to PAS made by the Bugis warrior in his personal capacity," Mahfuz said in a statement.
