Mobile Virtual Network Operator, XOX Bhd (XOX) will offer a reward of RM100,000 to mixed doubles pair Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying, if they win the nation's first ever Olympics gold medal.

"Peng Soon-Liu Ying are doing the nation proud. They will be creating history and we will be there for them," its group managing director Eddie Chai said in a statement today.

"XOX wants to invite all Malaysians to provide spiritual and emotional support to these national sporting heroes in their quest for glory and a place in the history books," he added.

The pair, ranked world number 11, turned giant slayers in their march to the final by defeating world number six Xu Chen and Ma Jin of China in the semifinals early today despite starting as the 'underdogs' in the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

Peng Soon-Liu Ying would be challenged by Indonesia's Tontowi Ahmad/Lillyana Natsir for the elusive gold at 11.30pm on Wednesday.
