A DAP lawmaker fired an insult against inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar, prompting him to retort with a screen capture of a Merriam-Webster online dictionary definition.

In a tweet, Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng took the police chief to task for describing Malaysian Crime Watch Task Force (MyWatch) chairperson R Sri Sanjeevan as a "criminal".

"Asal kau ini bodoh sangat? Dia itu suspek, bukan penjenayah! (Why are you so stupid? He is a suspect, not criminal!)," he said tagging Khalid.

 

 

Khalid then responded with the screen capture of the dictionary, which explained the term criminal, and asked: "Siapa pulak yang bodoh ini? (Who is the stupid one?)"

 

 

Following this, Lim replied that he was speechless because Khalid did not understand the law.

"Hopefully, the deputy inspector-general of police can help him understand," he added.

At a press conference earlier, Khalid had refused to entertain questions regarding Sanjeevan filing a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) against him.

"I don't think I need to answer to a criminal who has been charged in court," he said.

In his MACC report, Sanjeevan, 31, who has been charged three times in relation to extortion allegations, claimed conflict of interest involving a shooting academy belonging to Khalid’s brother.

According to the Companies Commission of Malaysia documents, the police chief's brother, Abdullah, is a director in Unggul Shooting Academy.

The firm was incorporated in November 2013, six months after Khalid was appointed IGP.
