Senior gov’t officer detained by MACC released on RM300k bail

A senior officer with the title ‘Datuk’ of a government department in Malacca who was detained for alleged corruption has been released today on a RM300,000 bail.
The order was issued by a Malacca magistrate’s court assistant registration officer, Mohd Anuar Ostadi.
The 56-year-old suspect was detained last Aug 15 for investigation under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009 for alleged corruption.
He was among three civil servants arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in Kuala Lumpur, Malacca and Kelantan on Aug 15 for corruption, abuse of power and money-laundering.
