Badrul Hisham Shahrin is now no longer a member of PKR after an official decision regarding his sacking was issued on Aug 22.

PKR information chief Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, however, said that Badrul, who is better known as Chegubard, has 14 days to appeal the decision.

"At that time, I said I wasn't informed yet about the official decision regarding Chegubard's sacking," Syed Ibrahim said in a WhatsApp message to Malaysiakini.

Earlier, Syed Ibrahim (photo) had told Malaysiakini that no official decision had been made by the PKR leadership regarding Chegubard's sacking.

"Actually, there was already an official decision after the PKR political bureau council informed so on Aug 22. I was the one who overlooked it.

"At the same time, the letter of sacking was sent to Chegubard and he has 14 days to appeal (the decision)," he explained.

Malay daily Berita Harian’s website version, BH Online, reported this afternoon that PKR had sacked Chegubard for disciplinary misconduct.

It said that Chegubard, who is the coordinator for Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (SAMM), had been stripped of all his party positions as well as forbidden from carrying out activities under the PKR banner.

BH Online also said that the PKR disciplinary board, which held is meeting on Aug 4, made the decision to sack Chegubard, based on Clause 41.7 of the party's constitution for negatively affecting the party's image, causing divisions within the party as well as ignoring party directives.

Chegubard has recently been aggressively exposing supposed wrongdoings within the Selangor state government under the leadership of the Menteri Besar Azmin Ali, who is also PKR deputy president.

It is understood that Chegubard also lodged a report today with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Azmin's alleged wrongdoings.
