PKR will kick off its nationwide tour on 1MDB at the Sabak Bernam mini stadium tomorrow night, said PKR vice president Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin.

The 'Jelajah 1Malaysia Dalam Bahaya (1MDB): Bohong yang tidak berpengujung' (1Malaysia in Danger: A never-ending lie) will also stop in Malacca (Sept 25), Sabah (Sept 30), Pahang (Oct 2), and Perak (Oct 15), he said.

"This nationwide tour is in the spirit of Independence Day and Malaysia Day, to unite Malaysians of all ethnicities, religions and cultures, against a government that continues to deceive and betray the rakyat without shame," he said in a statement.

The tour will feature PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali, and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) pro-tem president Muhyiddin Yassin.

Shamsul said such "information sessions" must be held because BN is "twisting and turning and creating smokescreens" to distract from the fact that 1MDB is the BN government's "worst ever record".

"Berani kerana benar, takut kerana salah (Courageous in truth, fearful when in the wrong). We will continue to provide the truth to the rakyat no matter the challenges," he said.

This comes after organisers of student rally 'Tangkap MO1' vow to go on a nationwide tour to demand that the person referred to as 'Malaysian Official 1' by the United States Department of Justice, is brought to book.

Cabinet Minister Abdul Rahman Dahlan said 'Malaysian Official 1' is Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak but he is not named in the DOJ lawsuits because he is not the subject of investigation.

According to the DOJ, Malaysian Official 1 received US$731 million, which originated from 1MDB.

The lawsuits are to seize more than US$1 billion of assets in the US believed to be purchased by using funds siphoned from 1MDB.

The deadline for objections against the civil forfeiture action is this month.

Attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali said there is no evidence that 1MDB funds were misappropriated, while Najib has consistently denied abusing public funds.

There is also a class action filed in the US by lawyer Matthias Chang and Amanah's Salor assemblyperson Husam Musa, seeking that the assets seized be held by them in trust, until a change of government.

The DOJ has said it aims to return the assets to the people of Malaysia.
