Pahang Menteri Besar Adnan Yaakob has hailed the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) report against him over the sale of the Kuantan Parade shopping complex as a "good move".

In a statement issued through his press secretary, Abdul Wahab Mohamad Ali, Adnan said it reflected that democracy and transparency were being practised in the country.

"He hopes that the MACC will get to the bottom of it and announces the finding accordingly.

"He wishes to add that all the records regarding the transaction are with the receiver," the statement read.

The statement was in response to Pahang PKR Youth chief, Wong Chun Yuan, who this morning lodged the MACC report against him.

This was over a state-owned company supposedly selling Kuantan Parade to a private entity for RM52.1 million but did not receive payment.

The statement said the menteri besar may also be taking his own action.

"He reserves his right to initiate any legal proceedings against any party on defamation at the appropriate time," it said.
