Umno strikes at Muhyiddin

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) pro-tem president Muhyiddin Yassin claimed the opposition can wrest as many as 45 parliamentary seats from BN if there is a four percent swing among voters.

Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein slammed Muhyiddin, claiming that he was out for publicity.

Meanwhile, the prime minister's press secretary Tengku Sarifuddin Tengku Ahmad claimed Muhyiddin was frustrated by the failed coup against the Najib administration and allegations of infidelity against him.

Jamal dismisses money politics claim

Sungai Besar Umno Jamal Md Yunos rebutted party veteran Rais Yatim's accusation that he was practising money politics, stating that his cash handouts did not count as money politics as it is not an election year.

He also declined to reveal the source of his wealth and instead took aim at DAP for not supporting a law that would require politics parties to declare the source of their funding.

Local transmission of Zika in Sabah

Malaysia recorded its first locally-transmitted Zika Virus in Sabah.

The patient, a 61-year-old Dusun man, later died of heart complications as he was also suffering from multiple diseases.
