YOURSAY | ‘How did this ‘ikan bakar’ man get RM115,000 to pay the 115 branch chiefs?’
No Dubai trip, Sg Besar Umno branch chiefs get RM1k each
Tholu: So Umno is all about ‘dedak’ (animal feed). The members remain “loyal” to Umno just for donations and alms from their leaders that are splashed on them occasionally. What a shame.
And by the way Sungai Besar Umno division chief Jamal Md Yunos, are you saying the Dubai trip for the 115 branch leaders would have cost you only RM115,000 and that is why you are giving them RM1,000 in lieu of the cancelled trip? Who are kidding?
So what if 20 percent did not agree to the trip? You can still bring the other 80 percent as promised, can’t you?
And to think that the members applauded to your RM1,000 offer, clearly shows how you Umno leaders have successfully groomed them to be gullible and to not to be able to recognise your dupe and deception on them - making them unintelligent and unanalytical to acts of corruption and abuse of power.
How they still support the PM who is inextricably entangled in the web of the 1MDB scandal is one classic example of this process of having succeeded in making them blindly servile and lacking in rationalism on important issues.
Mushiro: This is how ‘dedak’ is distributed to Umno branch chiefs in Sungai Besar. Once they have taken this ‘dedak’, they lose their sense and will agree to what the division chief ask them to do.
For RM1,000, they have sold their souls. Only 115 branch chiefs get this money and the rest of the people in Sungai Besar are deprived of development.
It is baffling that the 115 branch chiefs who were short-changed and given only RM1,000 each, instead of a Dubai trip which would have cost about RM3,000 each person, applauded loudly.
One wonders if they even understand simple arithmetic.
Dont Just Talk: How did this ‘ikan bakar’ man get RM115,000 to pay the 115 branch chiefs?
Either the money must have come from the ‘Cash is King’ man or there is an ATM card available at Jamal’s disposal.
Is it any wonder how the red-shirt followers are easily rounded up whenever he needed them?
Wg321: As far as Umno is concerned, vote buying is not corruption. This can be done openly, as shown proudly by Jamal and it is ‘halal’ too. There is nothing to be ashamed of as far as Umno Malays are concerned.
How do you expect the non-Malays to respect this type of Umno Malay?
Vela: If you couldn't understand what money politics is all about. This would be the best place to start.
Hardboiled: Sungai Besar Umno division chiefs, it's impressive that your leader wanted to take you to Dubai.
What made me wonder is why 115 of you didn't want a free trip to Dubai (the assumption it is fully covered), and instead accepted RM1,000 bucks?
A return flight ticket to Dubai already costs more than that, forget the hotel and food. Say the allocation was a minimum RM3,000 per head. Multiply by 115 = RM345,000.
Now the payout is RM115,000. I don't know where the money comes from and neither do I know the details of the trip, but it sounds like you just got screwed.
Slumdog: Just imagine the backlash and multiple police and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) reports from Umno if a member of the DAP made a similar offer to his or her supporters.
Jamal, I know this is a way of showing your caring attitude but could you please enlighten the rakyat as to where you got the money to take 115 Sungai Besar Umno division branch chiefs to Dubai for a holiday?
One Malaysia: Perhaps another Arab donor? Or has he been doing a roaring trade in ikan bakar?
RM2.6 Billion Turkey Haram: Just helping to get a few Chinese fishermen released is an indication that Jamal is not anti-Chinese, says Deputy Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
DAP leader Lim Guan Eng, who championed the cause of a Malay girl allegedly statutory raped by a CM and went to jail for it, he is always labelled as anti-Malays by Umno.
On top of that, as CM of Penang he gave even a much bigger allocation of funds to the mosques, and still Umno branded him as anti-Islam. So Ahmad Zahid, your brain needs an overhaul.
MalaysiaCowDoFlies: This is a clear case of distribution of ‘dedak’ in return for support. This is a sad trend for the nation and it speaks volume on the capabilities of these current leaders.
What is more amazing is the respond of those receiving the handouts. What will happen to our children when our oil pipes run dry?
Not Smart: Giving out money to garner support is akin buying the support for a fee. There is no sincerity by the giver and taker.
Even worse still, a Malay party where its members, both givers and takers, are Muslims. What has PAS and muftis got to say about this?
A fatwa will be created to circumvent this to make it look alright. This is a disgrace and insult to a beautiful religion by sick and desperate people.
Maplesyrup: Indeed, MACC should investigate how Jamal can have so much money to give away.
