Penang Deputy Chief Minister I P Ramasamy has condemned the violence against Sri Lanka's High Commissioner to Malaysia Ibrahim Ansar, who was allegedly assaulted at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport yesterday.

“We do not encourage violence, you cannot condemn violence by acting violently,” Ramasamy said at a press conference in Komtar today.

Ramasamy said Ibrahim, as well as a Buddhist monk who was also allegedly assaulted in a protest in Kuala Lumpur, were merely civilians.
