Kelantan Education Dept denies school served food lacking in nutrition

The Kelantan State Education Department (JPN) has denied that a school in Pasir Mas allegedly served food lacking in nutrition under the Supplementary Food Programme (RMT) for students.

Claims to the effect had gone viral on social media.

Its director Ab Aziz Abdullah said officials from the state and the district education office of Pasir Mas had gone to the school and found the canteen following the pre-determined menu.

"From the investigation, it was found the allegations are not true. On that day, the canteen's menu was Chinese fried rice and Milo drinks.

"The sausage and vegetable are only additional because the fried rice already contains chicken and vegetables," he told Bernama when contacted in Kota Baru today.

What went viral claimed the schoolchildren had no appetite to eat because the menu served only had a piece of sausage and a piece of vegetable.
