Gerakan has identified 90 percent of its candidates to be fielded at 45 parliamentary and state seats allocated for the party in the 14th general election.

Its president, Mah Siew Keong, said the remaining 10 percent of the candidates would be finalised next month.

“We (party) have made the preparations even though we do not know when the general election will be called,” he told reporters after attending a Malaysia Day and Mooncake Festival celebration in Kuala Lumpur last night.

He said Gerakan would also be swapping several seats with other Barisan Nasional component parties ,including one seat in Pahang, with MCA.

Several new candidates will also be fielded and they have received clearance from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, he said.
