EC takes bipartisan fire

Gerakan Youth deputy chief Andy Yong joined in the chorus of criticism against the Election Commission's (EC) redelineation exercise, claiming that the commission appeared to be prioritising racial dominance over interracial balance.

DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang questioned if the EC was trying to racially polarise the country.

Umno supreme council member Razali Ibrahim, who is also a deputy minister, said claims that the redelineation is unfair was an attempt to smear Umno.

Bersih supporters and red shirts trade police reports

Student activist Asheeq Ali Sethi Alivi lodged a police report against Gerakan Merah leader Mohamad Ali Baharom who threatened to attack Bersih chief Maria Chin Abdullah.

Meanwhile, another faction of the red shirts movement, Himpunan Baju Merah, lodged a police report against Bersih for planning to organise a rally against the government on Nov 19.

Gerakan Youth chief Tan Keng Liang offered Bersih RM20,000 if it was willing to hold its rally in a stadium instead of on the streets.
