Does DAP's 'old fox' agree with Bersatu's 'old fox' on PM choice?

A MCA leader has questioned if DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang agrees with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad's choice for the prime minister post if the opposition wins the next general election.

Ti Lian Ker said he was not surprised that the "old man" of Malaysian politics named Bersatu pro-tem president Muhyiddin Yassin for the top post.

"I was all ears and eyes to see the other 'old man's' response.

"Lim has always been quick to 'scream and shout' on any political opportunity to maintain his political relevance of more than half a century.

"Now, will he opt for Muhyiddin or Anwar Ibrahim or maintain his timely silence?" he asked in a media statement.

According to the MCA central committee member, both Mahathir and Lim are "cunning old political foxes" of the pre-May 13, 1969 racial riots era.

"They have survived and are still at it... playing the racial cards to their advantage," he said.

Ti warned that Malaysians would fall back into the trappings of race and religion if they continued to allow these two "old men" or their proxies to dictate the Malaysian political terrain.

"Malaysians should breakaway from personality, race or religious politicking.

"Malaysians must remove these protagonists with racist tendencies together with all political personalities who pander to the temptation of race and religion.

"They have had their moments of glory and cost the nation much on racial harmony. It is now payback time," he added.
