A 40-year-old part-time despatch rider today claimed trial at the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur over a Facebook post deemed insulting to inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar.

Rosmin Mohamed Nor was charged with putting up the insulting and demeaning Facebook posting at Kampung Teluk Bahru 2 Londang, Kota Bharu at about 10.10am on Sept 22.

If convicted under Section 233 under the Malaysian Communication and Mutimedia Commission Act, he stands to face a maximum fine of RM50,000 or not more than one year's jail, or both.

Rosmin was represented by lawyer Nurul Jannah Abdul Rahman while DPP Faridah Nurdinie Baharum prosecuted.

Sessions judge Zaman Mohd Noor set bail at RM3,000 and fixed Oct 28 for mention.
