Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor dismissed a question about PKR's Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli's Private Member's Bill aiming to take away redelineation powers from the Election Commission (EC).

"Why should I comment about Rafizi? Who is Rafizi in the first place?

"I'm not interested to comment about him," he said to reporters even before the question could be completed.

"I think he is a bit ... (crazy)," he added, gesturing his finger to his head.

He was addressing the media after officiating the Enterwip 2.0 and Technofest Entrepreneurship Convention 2016 at PWTC in Kuala Lumpur today.

Rafizi submitted the bill to Parliament on Thursday, following the EC's controversial redelineation proposal.

He had also invited the non-Malay BN parties to support his bill to amend the federal constitution to place the power of redelineation under a redelineation committee under Parliament.

By supporting his bill, Rafizi said that the non-Malay BN parties could pressure Umno into blocking the redelineation proposal.

Malaysiakini's independent analysis of the redelineation process confirm criticisms the boundary changes proposed in the redelineation largely favour BN.

Many polling districts that voted for non-BN parties in the last general election are affected.

The boundary changes either effectively eliminate a non-BN party's winning majority, or turns the constituency into a marginal seat for a non-BN party, the portal found.
