Some Muslim activists abroad are allegedly shocked to learn that Muslims would want to "topple" an Islamic government, said PAS acting spiritual leader Ahmad Yakob.

"Representative of (the Islamic movement) in Turkey and Palestine were shocked when they learned there are Muslims who want to topple the Islamic government in Kelantan.

"They were surprised, because they didn't expect there were any Muslims who would want to topple Kelantan's Islamic government," PAS organ Harakahdaily reported the Kelantan menteri besar saying.

Representatives of the two countries had reportedly visited Ahmad Yakob recently.

He was speaking at a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Gua Musang PAS building occupying one acre, costing RM 1.5 million.

While he did not refer to any particular party, PAS has been facing rivalry not only from its traditional foe Umno, but also from its splinter Parti Amanah Negara.

Furthermore, in July, Kelantan Umno deputy chief Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub said infighting among Kelantan PAS leaders had eroded public confidence in the Islamist party.

Ahmad urged the state to hold a snap election to solve its alleged leadership crisis.
