Penang Gerakan has questioned the efficiency of the Penang Island City Council in solving local issues raised by the public.
Its spokesperson, Ooi Zhi Yi said according to his observation, despite public complaints, no action was taken by the council.
He cited examples such as non-functioning lights and absence of rubbish bins at several bus stops in Gurney Drive, and clogged drains and the unhygienic condition of the Bayan Baru food court.
“Despite complaints, no action had been taken,” he told a press conference in George Town today.
Ooi claimed that previously, the council had vowed to solve problems raised by the public in a day’s time.
However, some issues raised more than a week ago were left unattended, he noted.
