Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali said PKR will decide on the ultimatum put forth by PAS that opposition parties wanting to cooperate with it must first sever ties with DAP.

"We will follow the party's (decision) and we will discuss," added the PKR deputy president when met after Friday prayers at the al-Khariah mosque in Gombak this afternoon.

Azmin was asked to respond to PAS information chief Nasrudin Hassan who had put forth the condition on the basis that DAP opposed the Islamist party's theocratic struggle.

DAP leaders have also remained tightlipped on the issue.

DAP, PKR and PAS were once allies in the now defunct Pakatan Rakyat opposition coalition.

Following a row over PAS' move to bolster the jurisdiction of the Syariah court in Kelantan, DAP and PAS split on an acrimonious note.

DAP and PKR later formed a new coalition called Pakatan Harapan together with PAS splinter Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah).

On Wednesday, Pakatan Harapan de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim had said the coalition and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) would hold talks with PAS.

Anwar said this after a meeting with Bersatu pro-tem president Muhyiddin Yassin at the Kuala Lumpur High Court on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, PAS Youth chief Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Aziz said the Islamist party would not be used as stepping stone for others to garner political mileage.
