After resigning as Finance Minister II, Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah is zipping his lips on political matters.

This amid speculation that he would join Umno splinter party Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).

"I don't want to talk about politics," he told Malaysiakini when asked today.

He was met on the sidelines of the Asian Forum event in Kuala Lumpur.

Husni resigned on Jun 27, before Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak announced a cabinet reshuffle.

He also resigned from all Umno positions but remained as Tambun MP.

He was succeeded by Johari Adul Ghani in the cabinet.

Husni earlier said he wanted to retire after the next general election and wants the Finance Ministry to be his final stop in government.

Since then, he has only made a public statement through a press statement to Malay daily Sinar Harian.

However, Husni said he will speak out in the Dewan Rakyat sitting next week.

"I will speak from my heart and mind in Parliament, and it will not affect any party," he said.
