Amanah seeks to contest in 22 Perak state seats
Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) is eyeing to contest in 22 out of the 59 state seats in Perak in the coming general election.
"Perak Amanah has identified the seats that it will be contesting and will present them to the Perak Pakatan Harapan leadership council.
"Perak Amanah is ready to contest in 22 state seats in the 14th general election," the party's Perak chief Asmuni Awi said today.
He did not specify the seats, but it is likely that they are seats linked to PAS as the party also contested in 22 state constituencies in the last general election.
Asmuni said he hoped the division of the seats among the Haparan parties could be finalised swiftly.
He also expressed hope for one-on-one contests against "BN and its allies".
In the meantime, Asmuni said, the Perak Amanah machinery has also been instructed to prepare for the general election, including filing objections against the redelineation exercise.
"On top of that, we are also strengthening our organisational structure and providing further training to all those handling our election machinery," he said.
He added that Perak Amanah was also shortlisting candidates for the respective constituencies, and ensuring that they would have sufficient funds to face the general election.
