A teenager was remanded for six days, beginning today, to facilitate investigations into two armed robberies in Serdang.

The first case was in April, followed by the other early this month.

Serdang police chief ACP Megat Mohd Aminuddin Megat Alias said the 17-year-old suspect was detained at about 10am yesterday, at an apartment in Bandar Kinrara, Puchong.

The teenager had also tested positive for drugs, he said when contacted today.

Meanwhile, Megat Mohd Aminuddin said the suspect was also under investigation for another armed robbery last Thursday in Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya.

In that incident, he was believed to be linked to a daring armed hold-up involving two women about 3.40am, whereby the incident was caught on a security camera near a guardhouse.

The footage went viral on social media, a few days ago.

Following the robbery, police patrolling Desa Ria in Petaling Jaya spotted a Honda Accord believed to be linked to the robbery and ordered its teenage driver to pull over for checks.

However, the driver sped away, only to ram into a police patrol car, which prompted policemen to fire five shots to stop the vehicle.

However, the teenager managed to escape after abandoning the car at Desa Mentari, Petaling Jaya.
