It is a heartbreaking tale of a mother's love.

Suhaida Mohamad, 42, was diagnosed with third-stage breast cancer. But she has refused to seek treatment because she wants to care for her 11-year-old son, who is terminally ill.

According to Harian Metro, Suhaida from Kuala Selangor said she was willing to endure the pain as seeing her son’s smile was sufficient.

"I am willing to forego chemotherapy and radiotherapy for my son.

"I cannot stand to see him suffer with his pain alone without me being by his side," she added.

Undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy is a time-consuming process, which can leave a person weak and drained, hence her decision not to proceed with the treatment for fear of being unable to help her son endure his ordeal.

Suhaida said she and her son, Muhammad Danish, fell ill around the same time a year ago.

"I realised there was a lump on my left breast for some time.

"But at the same time, Muhammad Danish was showing signs of bone cancer. So I decided not to seek treatment for myself," she added.

Muhammad Danish's left leg has been amputated and he now requires another surgery as the cancer has spread to his lungs.
