YOURSAY | ‘Money is allegedly what makes PAS tick now, not religious principles.’
PAS weighs sin, piety in ally-making, says new spiritual leader
Anonymous_4031c: PAS is a party of spiritual puritans. Associating themselves with lesser mortals is to dilute the very purity of spiritual understanding it seeks to promote and uphold.
With such divine affiliations and a monopoly on God, this party of religious underlings doesn't need to stoop low to work with the non-believers. It can and should exist as a party of its own with such blessings of the Maker.
By its own ideology alone, winning elections should not be a problem with divine intervention and blessings. PAS should stand alone and lock their doors to keep out the infidels. They need nobody as PAS is the world and the centre of the universe.
Hplooi: New PAS spiritual leader Hashim Jasin, you weigh the total 'good' which can be accrued to arrive at a decision.
Now 'good' in the case of the new spiritual commissar allows for heavy inclusion of the 'spiritual' (a nebulous concept which can only be gleaned by a select few).
Spiritual utilitarianism - (English philosopher Jeremy) Bentham would be proud (with the logic that is).
Demi Rakyat: PAS under its president, Abdul Hadi Awang, is no longer religious or spiritual. It has become like Umno by allegedly adopting money and personal power as its goals.
All this ‘spiritual’ talk and words is just to blind the members. Money is allegedly what makes PAS tick now, not religious principles. How far PAS has fallen under Hadi. From lofty principles to money as the driver. How sad.
Mosquitobrain: PAS cannot talk about pride and dignity. PAS will not cooperate with anyone who has ties with DAP. On the other side, PAS assemblypersons are still hanging on to the Selangor government.
PAS cannot afford to go solo. Either team up with Pakatan Harapan or join Malaysian Official 1's (MO1) party. Enjoy the 'dedak’ (animal feed) but prepare to lose big come GE14. There's no three ways about it.
6th Generation Immigrant: It is not seats alone that PAS should want, if so it is playing politics and PAS is just a political party. There's no manipulation in Islam, it’s a straightforward exercise - piety, honesty, integrity, equality...
The answer is staring PAS in the face, but they must remove the blot in its face - Hadi - in order to see clearly what the Malaysian rakyat want.
Fair Play: Welfare and piety? And rejection of sin and enmity? When you mix religion with economics and politics, you don't know your right hand from your left hand.
Norman Fernandez: Now you know why PAS knows nuts about economic and fiscal management. Imagine 10 minus 1 is 9, but for PAS it is 19.
Bamboo: According to its new spiritual leader, 10 minus 1 is not necessarily 9. But then ‘dedak’ would neutralise the welfare and piety of PAS under Hadi.
Amanah: Talks with PAS will reveal who betrayed anti-BN cause
Drngsc: Dear Pakatan Harapan, we must not compromise our standards (even teaming up with PAS) just to avoid three-cornered fights. Teaming up with PAS is worse than three-cornered fights. If it has to be three-cornered, so be it. Let us all work harder.
PAS with Hadi is unreliable and has actually been spurned by Umno. They will return to their lover, the moment they think that they have bargaining power and a chance to marry Umno.
Forget PAS, Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali.
Vision2020: At least, the rakyat will not blame Pakatan Harapan and Bersatu for not giving PAS more than sufficient opportunities to participate in the parliamentary democratic process - the 14th general election (GE14).
The ball is in PAS’ court - to join Pakatan Harapan or Barisan Nasional.
Rick Teo: DAP will suffer in the next elections if they accept PAS in the opposition pact. The previous Barisan Alternatif, when they included PAS, DAP lost a record number of seats.
If they do this again by including PAS, they will suffer the consequences.
Tkosong: If anything ever comes out from Amanah leaders’ mouths, it is definitely about PAS, PAS and PAS.
Anonymous 2408491459228145: Hello, Tkosong, do you notice that when PAS talks, it is always Amanah, Amanah, Amanah?
Najib: Gov't manages financial position in responsible, prudent manner
Rupert16: Najib has been entrusted with public funds, but a big chunk of it of at least a few billion ringgit has allegedly ended up in his pocket and billions more still unaccounted for. Is this how he considers being responsible and prudent?
Yes, he has indeed being creative in allegedly using 1MDB as a conduit to siphon the money to his bank accounts, and also being creative with his lies in claiming that it was a donation from a Saudi king when he was caught with his hands in the cookie jar.
Perak Boleh: If the BN government is so prudent and responsible with taxpayers’ money, tell us where is the RM42 billion of missing 1MDB funds.
Negarawan: "Gov't manages financial position in responsible, prudent manner." It is interesting that this is what President Robert Mugabe says about the Zimbabwean economy as well.
MO1 (Malaysian Official 1) must have learned this new line from Mugabe himself. Kleptocrats think alike.
