The Finance Ministry today announced the appointment of Mohamed Azman Yahya as the new non-executive chairperson of Sepang International Circuit Sdn Bhd (SIC).
In a statement, the ministry said the appointment, effective today, was for a three-year term.
The appointment was made following the resignation of Mokhzani Mahathir as chairperson and board member of SIC effective Oct 10, the statement said.
Mokhzani announced his resignation as a member of the SIC board after serving for 13 years in a news release yesterday.
Azman, 51, founder and chief executive officer of Symphony House Berhad, an outsourcing services company, also holds posts in several government-linked companies such as Khazanah Nasional Bhd and Ekuiti Nasional Bhd.
He is also a director of SIC and chairperson of Motorsports Commission of Malaysia.
SIC is a company incorporated under the Finance Ministry.
