Jamal red faced over anti-Bersih roughing up of journalists

6th Generation Immigrant: Idiotic logic from red shirts leader and Umno Sungai Besar chief Jamal Md Yunos for stating "...there wouldn't be a red shirts movement if not for Bersih, the coalition for free and fair elections".

Here's the people's response: “There wouldn't be any Bersih, if the government allowed free and fair elections".

This is a rightful demand of 31 million people, while Jamal's red shirts are only a handful, travelling around the country.

Even if you are talking of electorate, it is 51 percent that want free and fair elections. Even better, if there are free and fair elections, there wouldn't be red shirts and no Bersih as well.

We all live happily after. I hope the police understand the above arguments when executing their roles - freely and fairly.

Malaysiancare: Bersih's main aim is to promote free and fair elections. Is that not correct? What's the aim of the red shirts? To block Bersih and promote corrupt leaders so they can continue to have a share of the corruption money robbed from the country?

Basically: One usually sees gangsters and thugs violently stopping cameramen and smashing their equipment to prevent themselves from being caught in incriminating acts, or being seen by the general public.

The moral of this parable is self-explanatory. The point is, why is the party leader, whose own leaders were at the scene, completely silent about this? Is this a case of no photos, means no proof, even when the police witnessed the incidents?

Hagios: How could such gangsters be allowed to roam the roads in our law-abiding nation? Where were the police?

HaveAGreatDay: Jamal, by all means have your red shirts movement - that's called freedom of expression. But you don't try to bully or intimidate other people just because you don't agree with their opinions or positions.

Yes, I know you are an Umnoputra so you won't understand simple democratic principles like that.

Go elsewhere or find another time and do your roadshow. But why confront Bersih when they legitimately put up a show? Leave it to the police if there have been any transgressions from the 'yellow-shirts'. Why go after the media people?

Trueglitter: Jamal Md Yunos, please take heed that no amount of apologetic words uttered by you would hold any meaningful or sincere credibility, if your words of apology are just mere words.

Just words solely intended to only disguise and conceal the obnoxious shortcomings of your own and those of your goons' vindictiveness and their culpability, to provoke and engage in violent activities by causing harm and suffering.

It will really take more than mere words to convince us that they are worth more than a pinch of salt. It has to be followed up by proactive actions and endeavours to turn over a new leaf, and by publicly announcing your departure from the exceedingly unpopular red shirts movement.

Anonymous #59082512: Come on Jamal, be civilised and not barbaric. You and the red shirts can just organise your own road shows to counter those from Bersih at separate venues and times to show how popular you are. Leave Bersih alone. It has rights of its own.

Responsible Malaysian: Ask yourself why you are afraid of your act being exposed. If it is right, you should feel proud of it, instead of apologising. So what do you have to say now?

Bersatu Malaysia: Causing hurt, whether to journalists or anybody else is criminal. The red shirts show criminal tendencies.

Anonymous_3e86: Is he really sincere about the apology? Obviously not, as he blames others for the violence. It is inexcusable to use violence, when the Bersih group was peacefully campaigning.

Nobrain: All out to cause trouble. You can always hold a rally to support your silent boss. Do not disturb Bersih, which wants fair elections and a government that has integrity.

Responsible Malaysian: I just wonder if I/we do not like a particular group of people, can I/we confront them face to face, shouting and condemning them and perhaps beating them up? Can I/we block the way by beating them up if they pass by?

Perhaps, this is a newly established law?
