Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has poured cold water over claims that electoral reform group has been infiltrated by the Islamic State terrorist movement.

"There is no information (on that)," Zahid said briefly, when asked about the claims which was made by red shirts leader Jamal Md Yunos.

Jamal, who is also Sungai Besar Umno chief, had previously claimed to have received credible information that IS elements had crept into Bersih.

He also claimed that the group planned to cap their Nov 19 rally by surrounding airports and Putrajaya.

Jamal claims to have submitted evidence to back his claims to the police two weeks ago.

Speaking at press conference in the Parliament lobby today, Zahid also said that the law would be applied equally to both Bersih and the 'red-shirts'.

"The government is fair. We implement the law not based on colours, be it yellow or red.

"Anyone who breaks the law under the Peaceful Assembly Act, we will take the appropriate action," he said.

Zahid was asked about possible action against the 'red-shirts' over attacks on Bersih supporters and journalists.

On Oct 8, 'red-shirts' supporters had pelted eggs and kicked a Bersih supporter at the end of the electoral reform group's convoy from Teluk Intan to Sabak Bernam.

A week later, an anti-Bersih group believed to be the red shirts had roughed up journalists and Bersih supporters while the latter was handing out fliers at a hypermarket in Kuala Selangor.

Three people were arrested over the kicking incident, and three people were also arrested over the latest incident last Saturday.
