PARLIAMENT New public housing will be developed in Kuala Kangsar as thanks for voting in BN's Mastura Mohd Yazin in the by-election last June.

Urban Well-being, Housing and Local Government Minister Noh Omar told the Dewan Rakyat this in response to a question by Mastura, who urged the government to prioritise building 'rent-to-own' public housing outside of the Federal Territories.

"Your request is welcomed. We will prioritise this new housing programme as thanks to the people of Kuala Kangsar who voted you in as their new representative. Thank you," Noh said.

During the by-election in June, Mastura polled 12,653 votes, securing her a convincing win against three other candidates.

Mastura is the wife of the late Wan Mohammad Khairil Anuar Wan Ahmad, who was the Kuala Kangsar MP. Wan Mohammad Khairil passed away in an accident in May last year.
