Bersih is rude because it is emulating its political backers, the opposition, claimed Selangor Umno chief Noh Omar.

“Who is behind yellow (Bersih)? It’s the opposition.

“Why does yellow act rudely? Because their leaders (opposition) are rude,” he told reporters after officiating the Malaysian Property Expo 2016 at Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur today.

He pointed to the opposition’s behaviour during Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s Budget 2017 speech in Parliament yesterday.

The opposition had staged a mass walkout after displaying signs stating ‘Siapa MO1?’ (Who is MO1?).

“That is called rude. It contradicts (Dewan Rakyat) Standing Order 41 (1).

“You write in Malaysiakini: the opposition is rude, that’s why yellow is rude, too,” he said.

Bersih’s seven-week convoy, an awareness campaign for the Nov 19 mass rally, has seen several clashes between them and the red-shirts, as led by Jamal Md Yunos.

This includes an incident where a Bersih participant on a motorcycle was surrounded and assaulted by a group of red-shirts as well as another incident where journalists were roughened up by anti-Bersih protesters.

Earlier in the same event today, when asked about the clashes, Noh told reporters to ask Bersih on this matter first.

“No yellow, no red.

“Why do you wanna blame (the red shirts)?” he asked.

“That one, you go and ask (Bersih),” he said, when pressed further.
