Rafizi summoned by CCM over NOW's financial records

PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli was called to the Companies Commission Malaysia (CCM) headquarters today, as part of its “surprise inspection” into the financial records of his National Oversight and Whistleblowers (NOW) organisation.

"I feel that this is harassment and a nuisance and political pressure," said the Pandan MP, when met by reporters as he arrived at CCM's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today, accompanied by NOW executive director Akmal Nasir.

CCM previously said it audited 281 firms for compliance under Section 167 of the Companies Act between 2014 and October 2016.

Rafizi said it was notable that NOW was one of the few selected for the audit, out of the hundreds of thousands of companies in Malaysia.
